The Belleville Police Service responded to 38 calls for service between January 27th, 2016 at 5:00 a.m. to January 28th, 2016 at 5:00 a.m.
Arrest on Warrants
Belleville, Ontario – On January 27th, 2016 at 4:45 p.m. police attended on Pinnacle Street in relation to a disturbance. A 30-year old Belleville man was arrested on an outstanding warrant from October 2015 for the offence of assault. He was held for a bail hearing on January 28th, 2016.
On January 27th, 2016 at 9:12 p.m. officers attended on West Moira Street and arrested two people on outstanding committal warrants stemming from Provincial Offences Court convictions on December 7th, 2015. A 41-year old Belleville man will serve 15 days in jail for his traffic offences. A 30–year old Belleville woman will serve a 45 day sentence. Both will be taken to the Quinte Detention Centre to start their respective sentences.
Impaired Driver
Belleville, Ontario – On January 27th, 2016 at 6:22 p.m. an off-duty OPP officer reported an impaired driver that was driving erratically on Hwy 2 just east of Belleville. Belleville officers conducted a traffic stop in the City’s east end and an 18-year old Belleville man was arrested for impaired driving. A small amount of marijuana was also seized. This male will appear in court on February 11th, 2016 on charges of over 80 mgs., possession of a controlled substance and novice driver with a blood alcohol level above zero. His car was impounded for 7 days while his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
