The village of Hastings is supporting a way for residents to cross the Trent River, while the bridge is replaced.
The municipality, through Community Care Northumberland, is funding a shuttle service for those who cannot walk across the bridge.
The vehicle will make the 32 kilometre detour, so residents can do their banking, shop for groceries and do errands.
