It was a barnburner last night at Essroc Arena between two fiercely competitive Quinte rivals. Shaw Boomhower, Luc Brown and Dylan Mascarin all notched second period goals for the Wellington Dukes in their 3-1 win over the Trenton Golden Hawks in round three of the “Battle of Quinte”. Olie Lafreniere made 42 saves in the win. Danny Hanlon scored Trenton’s lone tally. GHawks assistant GM John MacDonald was not pleased with the officiating in his team’s defeat.
The Dukes will travel to Whitby Sunday afternoon to face the Fury. Game time is 2:10 and 800 CJBQ will have the game for you starting at 2 p.m. Trenton meanwhile, is off until next Friday when they are in Markham to play the Royals.
