Veterinarians are stepping up to provide low-cost dog vaccinations following reports of cases of Canine Parvovirus.
Seven local veterinarians have offered to run special vaccinations clinics for dogs that have never been vaccinated, at a cost of $40.00.
Recently the Quinte Humane Society reported about 30 dogs have been exposed to the virus locally but not all showed symptoms of the disease.
Canine Parvovirus is a highly contagious viral disease that can produce a life-threatening illness in dogs.
Bell Animal Hospital, Belleville Animal Hospital, Belleway Veterinary Hospital, Foxboro Veterinary Hospital, Hastings Veterinary Hospital, Loyalist Veterinary Hospital and Moira Veterinary Clinic have all offered to participate in this vaccination blitz.
