Belleville police had to use a taser to control a man wanted for shoplifting and attacking a store security officer at a grocery store in the noon hour yesterday.
Police say the security officer at the Metro store tried to stop a suspected shoplifter but was assaulted.
The suspect got away.
The security officer was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries to his back and neck.
Belleville police caught up to a suspect in a vehicle. He was with a woman and baby.
The man ran away but police caught up to him and used a taser to subdue him.
A 23 year old Belleville man faces of charges of Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Theft, and Resist Arrest.
The woman was arrested and the child put in to the care of Children’s Aid.
