Prince Edward County will be getting updated on work on the new Bay Bridge entering Belleville.
At Monday’s Mayor’s Implementation Team meeting, Mayor Taso Christopher updated staff on consultations with the County on the CP rail crossing on Bay Bridge Road.
Currently, crews have installed the foundation for the new bridge, which will be adjacent to the current crossing at Dundas Street West.
Christopher says they will make a presentation to the County at the Committee of the Whole on January 28.
He says the County is not financially supporting the bridge, therefore cannot make changes to the plan.
Christopher does say that because of the large number of commuters that use the crossing, it is important the County is aware of the work.
The project is being paid for by the City of Belleville, the province and the federal government.
