The local members of the provincial legislature don’t agree on whether or not the government is providing improved winter highway maintenance for highway 401.
Last year the provincial Auditor-General said the government was not meeting highway clearing standards.
Prince Edward Hastings MPP Todd Smith says snow-clearing standards have not been met, especially on highway 401.
Northumberland-Quinte West MPP Lou Rinaldi points to new electronic signage in the Colborne to Grafton area.
Rinaldi also says extra staff has already been hired to keep an eye on weather patterns.
