They were decisive winners in the Junior Pairs class at the Skate Canada Challenge in Edmonton last month. Now Trent Michaud of the Prince Edward Figure Skating Club and his partner Hope McLean of London hope to bring that success to the Canadian Tire National Championships in Halifax. Michaud says he and McLean have put their win in Edmonton behind them, and are completely focused on the Nationals.
The short program in the pairs competition is tomorrow. First the 19 year old East Northumberland Secondary School graduate will skate in the Men’s Short program today. Michaud and McLean hope to be among the three Canadian entries for the World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Hungary in March.
