Hastings -Quinte social services has decided to give financial support to three agencies to ensure some people don’t go hungry.
Director of social services Steve Gatward says three agencies have been granted funding over the two years, 2016 and 2017.
Gatward says eight agencies applied but the money is going to agencies not using any of it for administrative costs.
The joint social services committee is recommending that Hastings County grant 149-thousand dollars to Community Development Council of Quinte to operate Community Kitchens and Travelling Market.
Sixteeen-thosuand goes to Bridge Street United for two food programs and $15,000 to Peer Support South East Ontario for Fruit-to-Go in Bancroft, Belleville, Madoc and Quinte West.
