Quick work on the end of some snow shovels saved a house from going up in flames in Belleville last night.
Belleville fire crews responded to 112 Gavey Street shortly after 11 o clock.
A car had caught fire inside of a garage there.
The owner, with some help, got the fire under control by shovelling snow on to the vehicle.
A neighbors portable fire extinguisher was used to douse the flames completely.
While the car was a write-off, there was just smoke damage to the inside of the garage.
No one was injured.
The cause remains under investigation.
