There has been lots of different material falling from the sky recently.
Overnight, the Quinte region was covered in a shiny thin sheet of ice due to
freezing rain.
There were several minor accidents as vehicles slid off of roads and highways.
But, around 3:30 this morning, freezing rain switched to sleet, covering the
treacherous ice with a safer granular finish.
Wet snow was mixed in the with the sleet, and it is expected we’ll see some
drizzle and rain showers today as temperatures warm up.
However, temperatures will fall to below freezing again later this afternoon.
