Three late unanswered goals by the visiting Toronto Jr. Canadiens sunk the Wellington Dukes 5-3 in OJHL action last night. Tyler Burnie continued his hot streak with a goal in his fourth straight contest, while Jacob Panetta and Nicolas Mucci added the other tallies. Sam Tanguay stopped 32 shots in his Dukes debut.
Meanwhile in Trenton, the Golden Hawks didn’t get the inaugural North-East Showcase off on the right foot, losing to the Aurora Tigers 7-4. Josh Allan, Liam Morgan, Mac Lewis and Kevin Lavoie all scored for Trenton.
The Dukes are in action at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Gardens in Day two of the showcase, facing off against the Newmarket Hurricanes at 7:30 tonight. The host Golden Hawks are off until Sunday, when they face the Cobourg Cougars.
