The Belleville Police Service responded to 53 calls for service between 14 January 2016 at 5:00 am to 15 January 2016 at 5:00 am.
Mischief and Dangerous Driving
Belleville, Ontario – On Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 1013 am, a civilian employee of the Belleville Police Service observed a male take a metal bar and smash the taillights of a marked cruiser parked in the police parking lot. The male was then observed getting into a vehicle and leaving the scene. Police then received a second call that this same vehicle was now doing “donuts” and driving recklessly on the sidewalk and in front of the Quinte Consolidated Courthouse located at 15 Bridge Street West. The vehicle was subsequently located and stopped near Pinnacle Street. As a result of the investigation, Daniel Annesley, 46 years of age of Belleville, was arrested and charged with Dangerous Driving Sec. 249(1) and Mischief Sec. 430(4). He was remanded into custody for a bail hearing 15 January 2016.
Robbery
Belleville, Ontario – On Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 10:43 pm, police took a report of a 16 year old male being assaulted behind a business on Northfront Street. During this assault, the young male’s cellphone was taken. The young male received minor injuries. The three suspects are known to the victim. This investigation is continuing. Hit and Run
Belleville, Ontario – On Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2:00 am, police responded to a call of a possible abandoned vehicle on Tracey Street. Investigation revealed that an unknown vehicle, black in colour, was travelling eastbound on Tracey Street, lost control and struck a parked vehicle. The unknown vehicle fled the scene. Domestic Assault and Mischief
Belleville, Ontario – On Friday, January 15, 2016 just after midnight, police responded to a residence on Octavia Street in regards to a disturbance. Information received was that an ambulance was on scene treating a female with facial injuries. Police attended and were advised that the male suspect had fled on foot. A male matching the description was observed by an officer in the area and subsequently, a foot pursuit ensued. The male was located and arrested in an alley off of Pinnacle Street. As a result of the police investigation, a 30 year old Belleville male, was charged with Domestic Assault and Mischief x 3 and is being held for a bail hearing January 15, 2016.
