While the timeline is still unclear, the Director of Business Development at Northland Power says plans are still ongoing to build a major pumped storage green energy project in Marmora and Lake.
John Wright tells Quinte News, the provincial government has become a real leader in the energy sector, even with all the changes since planning of the project began five years ago.
The man-made waterfall would go in at the old Marmora mine property and would create and store energy, to be fed to the Ontario hydro grid.
It could potentially bring hundreds of jobs during construction and up to 45 permanent jobs once it’s complete.
