It’s likely going to be good news for area students, but maybe not so much for parents, as school boards across the province have added an extra PA day to this calendar year.
For students in the Hastings and Prince Edward, Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic and Limestone school boards, that new PA day is Monday, February 29.
Hastings Prince Edward Board spokesperson Kerry Donnell says the extra day off is mandated by the province.
Schools will be closed on February 29 and parent will have to find somewhere else for your children to spend the day.
Individual schools will be sending home updated calendars over the next few days as well.
