The Quinte area showed its enthusiasm for conserving nature in the area by throwing its support behind the Adopt an Acre program.
Quinte Conservation ran the program before Christmas allowing the public to symbolically adopt an acre of conservation land.
Spokesperson Jennifer May-Anderson says the program topped last year’s total and the money will be used for signage at four conservation areas.
Quinte Conservation adopted out 219-acres raising $4,400, $1,400 more than last year.
