The management of the Belleville Fire Department has a new project to start working on.
At Monday’s meeting, city council approved the fire department start gathering data as step
one in an “operational review”.
Belleville Fire Chief Mark MacDonald says the last operational review was done over 10 years
ago, and it wasn’t quite finished.
He says fire and insurance regulations have changed, and so has the city itself.
An expert consultant will take the data and produce a review of the fire service, which will be peer reviewed by another expert.
The review will go out to tender sometime next year.
