It couldn’t last forever, and it won’t.
Because of the reconstruction of Front Street, from Church to Victoria, in downtown Belleville, the city approved free parking last spring in the 68 spaces in what’s known as the North Riverside parking lot.
However, the phase one reconstruction is now done, and city staff is recommending that lot go back to being a paid one.
Belleville council will vote on the recommendation at its meeting tomorrow afternoon.
