UPDATE @10:30 a.m.: Shortly after 8 pm on Friday the 8th of January 2016, Officers from the Belleville Police Service attended a residence on O’Neill Drive in the City of Belleville. A person with injuries was transported to the hospital. Officers ensured that the residence and neighborhood was safe and are continuing to investigate the event.
Belleville Police were called to 137 O’Neill Drive after 8 pm on Friday night in response to what is only being described as a “serious incident”.
Social media indicate a shooting had taken place. Police say it is not a murder investigation.
One person was taken to hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Reports last night said the police were searching for a man about 5 feet inches tall with a goatee.
It was reported he was in possession of a .22 calibre handgun.
