A fire that caused $500,000 in damages to a Belleville auto shop Wednesday morning has been deemed accidental.
Around 8:30 a.m, Belleville Fire responded to T & T Mechanics on College Street, near Cannifton Road and doused flames quickly.
Belleville fire Prevention Officer Corey Davis tells Quinte News it was a work place accident that ignited some gas fumes that were in the building.
Davis says four workers were treated at Belleville General Hospital for smoke inhalation.
He says there was significant damage to the ceiling, four cars that were on hoists were wrecked, three of which non-repairable plus the hoists themselves are compromised.
The discount auto parts store next to T&T also suffered heavy smoke damage.
