City staff is recommending doing Phase 2 of the downtown in three stages. During work on the stage, they would close the area to vehicles.
The City of Belleville is considering breaking down Phase 2 of the downtown revitalization.
At Thursday’s Mayor’s Implementation Team meeting, staff discussed three stages of work by a contractor.
Director of Engineering Ray Ford says staging Phase 2 will benefit everyone.
Staff is requesting that when each stage is underway, that it be closed to vehicular traffic.
Ford says this will save significant dollars.
Council will consider tendering the project later this month.
