The Executive Director of the Quinte Humaine Society is urging dog owners to get their pets vaccinated after another case of Parvovirus has been uncovered in the community.
Frank Rocket says this most recent case came to their attention after the owners noticed their dog seemed to be ill.
He says there are a number of symptoms you can look for in your pet.
And Rockett says, since survival rates are so low for dogs who contract the virus, he is urging all dog owners to get their pets vaccinated, if they haven’t already.
Rockett says, at this point, they believe about 30 dogs have been exposed to the virus locally, but not all have shown symptoms.
And he says they expect to be working on the issue for a few weeks and plan to keep the public updated on the process as well.
