A local politician isn’t happy about the way some local politics is being played. Yesterday, the Hastings Prince Edward Board of Health voted to ask Quinte West Mayor John Williams to replace Councillor Craig Desjardins as a member of the board. Most on the health unit board believed Desjardins hadn’t been attending enough meetings…and wasn’t doing his job. Meanwhile, Craig Desjardins says people with concerns should have spoken to him personally before doing anything publicly. Desjardins said it seemed the board was getting even with him for opposing spending on a new 20 million dollar building, and large budget increases. Desjardins says he’ll be sure to attend Health Unit meetings, and will continue to oppose big spending.
