The O-P-P detachment commander in Bancroft is heading south, to the same job in Prince Edward County. Staff Sergeant Barry Freeburn will assume his new duties on May 31st, replacing Bernie Gaw, who officially retires that day even though he has been off the job since December eleventh.
Superintendent Leo Sweeney, East Region Operations Director, says Freeburn was one of three applicants for the position.
