One-million dollars for milk for prisoners at Warkworth Institution and other federal facilities in Kingston and Gravenhurst.
The Correctional Service of Canada is asking for bids to supply milk to the three prisons, setting the value at 990-thousand. That is the estimated cost of replacing milk from Frontenac Institution, where the dairy herd is slated for auction next month.
The Save Our Prison Farms group will hold an information meeting at the Napanee town Hall next Monday evening to rally support.
