The boat is leaving dock, as the good ship City of Quinte West looks for financial help to build a 10 million dollar marina behind City hall at the mouth of the Trent River.
Mayor John Williams says the 380 slip marina has every chance of being successful quickly, and is expected to create 3 million dollars in economic spin offs for the Quinte region.
The City will approach the federal and provincial governments, and other sources, for funding. Mayor Williams says the marina could start taking shape in 2012.
