A new bursary will be awarded to a Cramahe Township student in honour of a teacher who was killed in a car crash last year. The Kawartha Pine Ridge School board has approved the award for a graduating student at East Northumberland Secondary School. Trustees voted in favour of the establishment of the 500-dollar Suzanne Kernaghan Education Bursary. Kernaghan, a former E-N-S-S student, was one of two teachers killed in a traffic accident near Peterborough in January, 2009. She taught at an elementary school in Cobourg.
