Tyendinaga Township residents will pay about 2.3 per cent more in property taxes this year.
Township Council approved a 3.5-million dollar budget last night, with the major projects being work on Shannon and McCullough Roads, and improvements to a bridge on Daley Road. C-A-O Steve Mercer describes the average homeowner with a residence assessed at 185-thousand dollars will pay 2,471 dollars in taxes this year, up by 55 dollars from last year. He says Tyendinaga Township Council will also build a new maintenance utility facility at the recreation centre, at a cost of about 40-thousand dollars.
