This morning, Belleville’s mayor made it a triple –three major announcements– at the final Chamber of Commerce Mayor’s Breakfast of this four year term for City Council.
Mayor Neil Ellis had a few tricks up his sleeve for the business audience at the Ramada Inn. First off…the city, in partnership with Veridian will produce electricity at its Sewage Treatment plant….a million dollar bio-gas system that will use the “methane gas” now being burned off, to produce electricity…enough to power about 120-homes. The new Bell Boulevard bridge over the Moira River has been named the Veterans Memorial Bridge….and more big news, a new manufacturer coming to town this spring…with about 60 jobs… that company to be named next week. And, still more… coming soon, an updated more user-friendly city website.
