The opposition at Queens Park is getting involved in the ongoing flap over industrial wind farms in the province.
Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party, Tim Hudak, says his party will introduce a motion tomorrow(today)…asking that planning authority for the granting of wind licenses be given back to local communities.
Now, the provincial government has the final say on where wind farms go.
Several community groups, including those from Prince Edward County, oppose wind farms because of both business, and health reasons.
Hudak says where wind farms are allowed should be decided by democratically elected local governments.
