The Alliance to Protect Prince Edward County and about 40 other groups across the province are planning a protest in Toronto next week against large wind farms approved by the Ontario Power Authority.
The projects, including one at Ostrander Point and another near Milford were recently given the green light.
Wind Concerns Ontario President John Laforet says the government has underestimated the opposition to the wind turbine projects. He says the wind farms were approved without public meetings and consultations being held, environmental screening being done, and the public given the opportunity to comment on both procedures. The rally will be held at Queen’s Park on April 28th.
