The Byron Wind Project has been cancelled. Company officials told landowner-partners in Prince Edward County the project….which was expected to power 16-thousand homes each year…..was no longer worthwhile. With 43-wind turbines…the Byron project was the largest and furthest advanced of the proposed wind projects in the County. The landowners were told the state of the economy and a reduction in the number of windmills due to issues with the military regarding CFS Mountainview meant the project was cancelled. Farmer Lloyd Crowe negotiated with Skypower to construct 4 wind turbines on his property…and says he was looking forward to the new green energy project and the income it would have brought him personally…estimated at 60-thousand dollars a year.
