The Director of the Ontario Campaign for Action on Tobacco has once again sounded the alarm about young people getting contraband cigarettes from Tyendinaga.
Michael Perley commented today, just after the the O-C-A-T issued a press release, saying more than 60-thousand Ontario students are puffing smokes from First Nations across the province. He says he’s suspicious vehicles loaded with cigarettes are showing up near schools, with suppliers selling their goods.
Perley says smoke shacks on the Tyendinaga First Nation shouldn’t sell the non-tax cigarettes to non-natives, and definitely shouldn’t allow peope to purchase tobacco if they are under the legal age.
