A Peterborough man has been sentenced to four years in prison for an assault and robbery at a Belleville motel.
Thirty-three-year-old William Dennis was convicted in Belleville Provincial Court of aggravated assault and robbery, and was also given a lifetime weapons prohibition.
He and two other men were arrested by Belleville City Police after a 50-year-old man was attacked and robbed in his North Front Street motel room on November 30th, and suffered serious head and facial injuries. The two other accused, 32-year-old John White of Madoc and 24-year-old Michael Burshaw of Belleville agreed to enter into peace bonds, and their charges were withdrawn.
