Demographic studies show that there’ll be a shortage of skilled labour in Canada over the next 20 years, so government and business will need to attract professionals from other countries. Because of that, the provincial government has granted 46 thousand dollars, to be administered by the Quinte West Chamber of commerce, to start up a program called ‘global experience at work’. The program will be offered throughout the greater Quinte region. To start, foreign trained professionals now working locally will be asked what services should be offered to make the area more attractive to those from other nationalities.
