Hastings County has thrown its support behind a move to have the province launch research into how to control coyotes and wolves across the province. Councillor’s decided to support a resolution from Prince Edward County. It says livestock kills in Prince Edward have jumped 30-percent in the past five years, up to 108-thousand dollars. The government provides compensation to farmers only if there’s predator evidence in the form of a carcass. Prince Edward says this is not always possible.
