For sale in Quinte West, a former garbage dump.
The city is advertising for bids on the Quinte Sanitation Property on Aikins Road near Bayside, with a minimum tender of almost 592-thousand dollars to cover outstanding property taxes.
The land was first advertised two years ago with taxes of 430-thousand dollars still owing, but there were no takers. The landfill was closed many years ago after a ruling by the Ministry of the Environment. Anyone interested in buying the site has until April ninth to send in their bid.
