The eight members have been named to the Trent-Severn Water Management Advisory Council, which will study the future of the Trent-Severn Waterway.
The members include Alan Appleby of Campbellford, representing the Lower Trent River area..
The biggest challenge facing the council will be the waterway’s aging equipment and infrastructure, and getting the funding for replacements. It is part of the federal government’s Action Plan for the future of the waterway, which was announced last year.
