It almost looked as though it wasn’t going to happen, but in the end Prince Edward County Council voted to build one of the final pieces of the new Youth Park in Picton
Some on Council worried about a clubhouse, with canteen, community room, and washrooms being built..at a cost of 154 thousand dollars. They were concerned the County was going to run the youth park..featuring a state of the art skate park. They worried that the clubhouse builder..with the lowest bid…was from Belleville and not from the county….
But Council agreed with Councillor Peggy Burris, after a lot of discussion about the 1.5 million dollar park……the skatepark group had done a lot of work…and it was not time to hold things up at the last minute.
