Unless there’s a change of heart after a 30 day appeal period, there’ll be shopping at retail stores, big and small, in Prince Edward County this Good Friday. Prince Edward County Council unanimously, and with no discussion, passed a resolution to allow stores to be open on Good Fridays last night. Mayor Leo Finnegan says it’s what County business wants….adding many people come to open their cottages on the Easter Weekend and for many businesses it’s their busiest weekend of the year. Roni Summers Wickens of the Picton BIA told Council that only employees who ‘want to’ will be working on the holiday at the County’s large retailers.
