All of the behind the scenes work has paid off. Quinte West will have a new industry starting up soon. Metro Paper Industries has officially taken over the former Quaker/PepsiCo plant in Trenton. Executive Vice President of Metro Paper Industries…Amin Jadavji…says the first production line is now in the building. Metro Paper, which has 3 other locations, will manufacture toilet tissue in Trenton.
The company is hiring, but details on how many people will initially be hired won’t be released until sometime next week. Mr. Jadavji says his company was impressed by the location in Trenton, and the work of City Council, MPP Lou Rinaldi, and the Quinte Economic Development Commission. Metro Paper Industries other plants are in Toronto, Quebec, and New York State.
