The future of Mohawk Liquidation on the Tyendinaga Reserve may finally be decided in court this Thursday, but it appears the store is ready to shut down.
A “store-closing sale” banner has been displayed outside the Old Highway Two business, which is on land purchased by the current owner from two men who didn’t own the property.
Both the owner and the Mohawk Band Council have been arguing over council’s demand the owner stop operating on the site. The dispute began two years ago after council informed the owner he had no ownership right to the property.
