The group pressuring the government to close the Richmond landfill site near Napanee isn’t impressed with the owner’s newest proposal for getting rid of garbage.
Waste Management says a multi-million dollar waste management facility will be built on Beechwood Road, featuring diversion and recycling operations.
However, Ian Munro of the Concerned Citizens of Tyendinaga and Environs says the company is trying to hide the fact it wants to landfill on the site. Waste Management says the new facility will create up to 75 green jobs.
