A Brighton man has been charged with trying to smuggle marijuana to a prisoner at the Port Hope court house..
Port Hope Police launched an investigation at the Ontario Court of Justice after a 28-year-oldĀ man, who’se name wasn’t released, was arrested and charged with five controlled drugs and substances act offences.
The man tried to leave marijuana and hashish-laced cigarette papers concealed in condoms in the court washroom last Friday. Police believe the drugs were to be picked up by a prisoner making a court appearance.
