Hastings-Prince Edward School Board Trustees will get some information tonight on the budget challenges they face in 2010-11..
A report from the Superintendent of Business, Dave Rutherford, says restraint measures introduced last year will be joined this year by transportation funding adjustments, school operations funding reductions, and an ongoing reduction of 8.7-million dollars in annual funding for board administration. He predicts the end result will be an overall funding reduction of about one-million dollars, and he expects it will be a bigger challenge to balance the budget by the June 30th deadline than it was last year.
Trustees meet at the Education Centre on Ann Street in Belleville at seven o’clock this evening.
