Another month, another big increase in the number of people on employment insurance in Belleville and Quinte West.
Statistics Canada says 1,780 residents of the two cities got benefits in December, the last month information is available for.
That is up by ten per cent from the 16-hundred in November.
The December figure was also much higher than the same month in 2008, when 1,230 people in Belleville and Quinte West received Employment Insurance.
