A snowmobile accident has claimed the life of an Oshawa man in Peterborough County.
Provincial police say the 58-year-old man was reported missing by his son last night after he failed to return home from a short ride.
Police say they found him against a tree on an island in Chandos Lake. Police say it appears the man had driven across the frozen lake before hitting the tree on the island.
Technical collision investigators and the fire department remain on the scene.
The man’s name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.
