Quinte West has lined up meetings with two cabinet ministers at a conference of rural municipalities in Toronto next week.
Mayor John Williams says a delegation from the city, including seven councillors, is attending the Rural Ontario Municipalities Association and Ontario Good Roads Association joint conference from Sunday to Wednesday.
The Quinte West representatives will meet the new Energy and Infrastructure Minister, Brad Duguid, on Monday, to discuss whether any provincial funding will be available for local infrastructure projects, like the marina. They also have a date with Education Minister Leona Dombrowsky on Tuesday about local school bus operators’ concerns they may lose business if the tendering process is opened up to multinational companies.
