It’s official. Colonel Dave Cochrane took over as base commander at 8 Wing Trenton at an Assumption of Command Parade today(yesterday).
He spoke of the pride he had for the military and civilian personell on base, who continue to do important work worldwide, despite the recent upset caused by the Colonel Russ Williams events. He also thanked the people in the Quinte region for their strong show of support for the military.
Meanwhile, at the National Air Force Museum of Canada, retired Chief of Defence Staff, General Rick Hillier, told 350 Quinte region business leaders that the community has to continue it’s support of the military. General Hillier said that the horrible, heinous, crimes of one person should not be allowed to rip the community apart.
