Charges against a Campbellford man and five other people of unlawfully occupying a cottage they don’t own north of Minden last November have been dropped.
The O-P-P say the matter was dealt with at a pretrial, one week before they were to stand trial this month.
Members of the same group had also faced shoplifting charges after taking groceries, for which they refused to pay, from a grocery store last October, but those charges were also dismissed.
The group, led by Victor Beck of Campbellford, pactices a philosophy it calls “spiritual economics,” using the philosophy, as children of God, all human beings are entitled to all things simply because they exist.
